Amazon product image resizer

Square, pure white and large enough for zoom — the three things Amazon's main image rules come down to.

  • Pad to exactly RGB 255,255,255 — the pure white a camera alone can't shoot
  • Output 2000 px square, well above Amazon's 1000 px zoom threshold
  • Keep the whole product visible instead of cropping to fill
  • Convert HEIC and PNG originals to the JPEG Amazon prefers

How to resize photos for Amazon

  1. 1Add your product shots

Photos already shot on white work best — padding will blend seamlessly into the existing background.

  2. 2Keep white padding on

The Amazon preset pads to a pure white square. Leave it on for the main image; secondary images have looser rules and can use crop instead.

  3. 3Check the frame fill

Amazon wants the product filling 85–100 percent of the image. If padding leaves a lot of empty white, crop closer before processing.

Amazon's main product image has the strictest rules of any marketplace here. The background must be pure white — RGB 255, 255, 255, not off-white, not a gradient. A camera alone essentially never lands on that exact value: a photographed white backdrop still picks up ambient shadow and colour cast, landing a few points short of 255 on at least one channel — getting it exact takes editing the file afterwards. The product must also fill 85 to 100 percent of the frame, with no text, no logos, no watermarks, and no props that are not part of what you are selling.

Size matters for a specific reason: Amazon's zoom function only turns on when the longest side is at least 1000 pixels, and 1600 pixels or more is where it works properly. Zoom is one of the few image features with a measurable effect on conversion, so shipping a 900-pixel image quietly costs you sales. The ceiling is 10,000 pixels.

This tool pads your photos out to a square at 2000 pixels using a background set to exactly RGB 255, 255, 255 — not an approximation of white, the literal value Amazon's checker is looking for. It does not remove an existing background: if your product was shot on a wooden table, padding adds that exact white around the edges, but the table stays. For that you need a background remover, which is a different job.
