Every figure above is quoted from OLX's own articles — 'Вимоги до фото' on help.olx.ua and the listing article on pomoc.olx.pl — and from no third-party blog. Where the two countries differ, this preset takes the stricter number, which is why the long edge is capped at 2000 rather than at the Polish suggestion.
How to resize photos for OLX
1Add the photos straight from the phone
HEIC from an iPhone and full-resolution JPGs from Android both work. Fifty at a time, which usually covers several listings in one pass.
2Let the 5 MB cap do its job
The preset compresses each photo until it fits, starting from high quality and stepping down only as far as it must. Most phone photos land far under the limit.
3Download and post
Upload the set and put the photo that best shows the whole item first — that one becomes the thumbnail in the results list.
On OLX a photo usually goes straight from the phone into the listing, and that is exactly where its one hard limit bites. A recent phone shooting at full resolution produces files well past 5 megabytes, and 5 MB is the ceiling OLX publishes. The page does not quietly shrink the file for you — the upload simply fails, generally on the third or fourth photo, generally while you are standing over the thing you are trying to sell.
The other published number is a maximum of 2000 × 2000 pixels on olx.ua, described there as the size at which photos look best. On olx.pl the guidance differs in shape rather than in spirit: the same 5 MB, jpg, jpeg and png, and a suggested 4:3 frame of around 1500 × 1205. One preset serves both countries, so it takes the stricter of each pair — 5 MB, 2000 pixels on the long edge, JPG on the way out.
Eight photos is the standard allowance, and some categories are more generous: on olx.ua, Auto and Real estate take 24 and Parts takes 15. Whatever your category allows, the order matters more than the count. The first photo is the one that appears in the results list, and an OLX results list is scrolled at speed.
